frequently asked

why should we hire YOU for

our wedding or elopement?

Because I will work as hard as I possibly can to provide you with INCREDIBLE photos and help you create a timeline and experience that will allow your day to be YOUR day. Weddings/Elopements can be stressful and overwhelming and I will be right with you the entire time. Promise. I will take the time to connect and get to know you so I know how to beautifully capture your big day.

I will help ensure that your day is exactly what you want and deserve. I will be your eyes on your day so you can focus on your significant other and loved ones

When you book with me you will have access to my wedding experience guide. I've shot many weddings and I'm married myself. I'm here to help in any way I possible can. Just let me know what you need help with, if you need recommendations, and if there’s anything I can do to make the process easier for you!

 2. will you help us with the planning process?

 3. how many photos will we get?

The number of photos you get depend on a lot of things, including, the number of guests, the hours of coverage, hours of dancing, types of events, etc. The average number of images you'll get is 50 edited images per hour of coverage.

 4. do you travel?

Yes!!! I love to travel but I only book a limited number of out-of-state and destination weddings per year. In 2020 I am only booking 4. A lot of my couples also travel to me in Utah. There are so many incredible places, national parks, landscapes, mountains, and desert locations to choose from. I know these places so well and its fun for couples to make a little vacation out of getting their pictures taken

5. do you charge travel fees?

Yes, I do! I charge a fee that covers my flight, transportation, accommodations and everything in-between. The amount depends on the location. Please reach out to me for more detailed information.

 6. do you offer discounts?

I offer discounts about twice a year. The best way to hear about discounts is by following along on my social media accounts.

 7. how fast will I get my pictures?

The turn around time for your photos depends on the time of year, how much coverage you had and how much I'm shooting at that time. Sessions usually take me anywhere from 7 days to 2 weeks. Weddings can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks. I know its so exciting to get your pictures back and I try to get them back to you as soon as possible while giving the time and attention to detail each photo needs.

 8. how many weddings do you take per year?

I take a different number of weddings each year. For 2020 I am only accepting 12 weddings. I want to be there for all of my couples and be able to connect with each and every one of them. Quality over quantity ALWAYS. It's so important to me that all of my clients have a great experience and receive the best photos possible.

 9. do you work with a second photographer?

Sometimes! It totally depends on the type of shooting and what my couples need. I normally shoot sessions on my own but I will try to bring a second shooter to weddings when I can. If you want to guarantee that I have a second shooter with me for your wedding day you can add it to your package. It's another way to keep the day running smoothly and capture even more special moments.

 10. do we get the copyright of the images?

I will include a "copyright release" in your gallery. This means that you will have the right to print and share the images as much as you want. But I will still own the copyright of the images because I created them

 11. do we need to feed you at the reception or luncheon?

It would be really kind if you did! Feeding me and my second shooter, if I have one, ensures that we stay happy and mobile and don't die of starvation. It's best if we eat while you're eating because most people aren't at their most photogenic while they are eating. As soon as we are done eating we will continue working.

12. can our family and friends take pictures too?

Of course! I do suggest that you have an unplugged ceremony so their aren't a bunch of phones and cameras in the pictures that I take. They are welcome to snap some pictures in the background during other events. I don't allow any family or friends to come a long when we take your portraits though, because it's distracting and can even be uncomfortable.

13. do you offer payment plans?

When you book a session you will need to pay a 50% non-refundable retainer to save your date. The remaining amount is due 1 day before your session. I also do a lot of planning, preparation and scouting before the actual photo shoot and the retainer covers the cost of that. When you book a wedding you will need to pay 30% or $500, whichever is greater, to secure the date. The remaining amount is due 10 days before your wedding. You can split the cost into 3-4 payments to help make it easier. I am happy to help with any questions or alternate payment plans.

14. what if we need to cancel or reschedule?

Rescheduling your shoot or wedding is totally fine as long as its within the same calendar year and I have the date available. If you do need to cancel you will get a refund of payment excluding the retainer. The retainer is legally non-refundable. If you want to re-schedule for a different year you will need to pay the retainer again

15. what if you can't make it to our wedding?

Hopefully this NEVER HAPPENS but if, heaven forbid, it does. I would find a replacement at the same skill level and style as me to shoot your wedding. I take the responsibility of shooting your wedding very seriously and wouldn't just "call in sick," without a very serious reason, i.e. death or something similar.

16. can we add extra coverage if we need it?

Yes! I have a rate for adding extra coverage. You can add it before your wedding day or on the day of your wedding. Photos won't be delivered until the extra coverage is paid for.
